This could have been any of us. Pray against abortion in your city, in your nation!!
Oh my goodness :( is this real?!
So you’re promoting FORCING women to have unwanted children? What about rape victims? How about teens? Will you help the woman support her child after you FORCE her to have it?
Okay, let me present this to you in another way: What about the rights of the unborn child? Just because a woman does not personally desire a child means that the destruction of this living human being is justified? Things happen, Jackie. Rape happens… accidents happen. By no means is that an excuse to just toss the consequences out the window as if they never existed. Yes, having a child may alter that woman’s life forever. But in no way does that mean that she cannot recover and pursue happiness in her life. And for the baby? Well, to abort it never even gave it a chance for that in the first place. If that isn’t human cruelty then honestly, I don’t know what is.
But how right is it to FORCE someone into something they don’t want? You know that in Amnesty we never FORCE anyone to do anything. We make suggestions we protest and petition but do we ever FORCE anyone to do something? What you’re doing is denying the woman the right to her own body. The right to choose what she wants to do with that body. Gabi, I do believe there is a point of no return in a pregnancy, and after that point abotion should not be an option. But why deny someone their right to choose how they take care of their own body?
Well, if you want to look at it that way, don’t we “force” people to abide by a set of laws? Don’t we institute consequences such as “forcing” people to reside in a prison establishment for a given amount of time or pay a fine because they have violated the rights and safety of another individual? So the argument that it’s wrong to “force” anyone to do anything is faulty due to the fact that rules are the basis upon which we establish any sort of order and justice in our society. If anyone were to ask me, do I believe that murder of another human being ought to be outlawed and prevented, I would say yes, unequivocally, regardless of the fact that the murderer probably doesn’t want to be “forced” to be held accountable for his actions. Same thing applies to the destruction of human beings in-utero.
The second thing that I would like to point out is that there is numerous medical evidence that a fetus is a separate entity of its mother. For example, if the fetus’s blood type has Rh factor and the mother’s does not, its mother has to take Rh factor to make sure that her body does not reject the baby. The baby and its mother have completely separate DNA. A fetus is not an appendix, say, like an organ or a limb. It is a biologically distinct and complete human being, which is basically hooked up to the mother as a life-support system until it can maintain life outside the womb on its own.
