I roll like this, you roll like that.
If we roll together we may see where we're at.

Explanation, please?

I saw Where The Wild Things Are, and to be frank, I really couldn’t find much of a plot and, from what I could gather, there wasn’t really much closure for any of the characters. The whole group of “things” seemed like one big dysfunctional family. Carol was the angry, alcoholic dad and KW was the detached, emotional mom. Maybe they were all supposed to represent Max’s internal struggles orrrr they were separate parts of his persona? Or something? Since this whole “adventure” was all going on inside his head, right?

I don’t know, it just seemed like the writers took a storybook that was intended to be simple and tried to stuff it full of deep meanings and indie logic.

Although, despite all of that, I did find the movie to be visually stunning and the music to be wonderful.

Is there anyone out there who was able to figure out what the movie was all about?

My friend & I had the exact same problem. We agreed that the music and visuals were great but the story, not so much. I guess each of the characters were supposed to represent all of the aspects of Max’s personality though. Kind of confusing for a kid, but what can a do? I think I’ll watch it again sometime now that I know that detail. Hope that helped/made sense :)

Yeah, that seems to make the most sense to me! Or something pretty similar. I’ll probably watch it again too once it comes out. Definitely not worth another $10 at the movies for me! Haha.
